Orange is the county seat of Orange County and is the southeasternmost city in the State of Texas.
Orange is located on the Sabine River at the Texas - Louisiana border. It was founded in 1836 and was originally named Green's Bluff after a Sabine River Boatman named Reason Green. Later the name of the town was
changed to Madison to honor President James Madison. In 1858 it was renamed Orange.
