"Desert Designs by Kathy", these three Kachina dolls are made by Kathy Sallee, Las Cruces, NM. The center doll is signed, "Buffalo Dancer by Kathy, 1989", the green doll on the left is signed, "Eagle by Kathy '90", and the third doll is signed, "Kathy '88". "The Eagle Kachina (Kwahu) is believed to both maintain a close relationship with the sun and to be an intermediary with sky dieties. Its power and plumage is sought in bringing rain, in curing rites, and in prayer. It is the chief of all birds."
